GPCC offers a number of opportunities to get involved in the East and West Garfield Park communities through our own volunteer programs as well as working with other local organizations and community gardens in our Garden Network.

If you would like to sign up for volunteer opportunities in the neighborhood, you can sign up for our volunteer interest list here! However, the easiest way to get involved with community organizations is to contact them directly. Their information is below.

Garden Network Volunteer Opportunities:

Fulton Street Community Garden
Fulton Street Community Garden is a small group of gardeners who come together to grow vegetables and flowers for themselves and for community members. 
Typical afternoons include planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, DIY garden construction, and recharging together. Plants in the garden vary year to year, and usually include a variety of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and greens.
They meet weekly from approximately May-October, most Tuesdays from 5pm-7pm at 2946 W Fulton St, Chicago, IL 60612. All neighbors and friends are welcome on Tuesdays. Please reach out with any questions.

Roots Community Garden
The Roots Community Garden on the southeast corner of St. Louis and Fulton. This garden is a vegetable, fruit, and flower garden. 
Typical afternoons include planting, weeding and harvesting. Plants in the garden vary year to year.
They have volunteer work days on Thursdays or Saturdays at 3459 W Fulton St. Chicago, IL 60624. However, they are open to days when the volunteers are available as well.

Finding Justice: A Flower and Vegetable Garden 
Finding Justice A Flower and Vegetable Garden is an urban farm in Chicago that grows fresh, nutrient-dense produce to heal our community. Through our programs and workshops, we aim to empower individuals to make informed food choices and create a positive impact for future generations. Typical afternoons include planting, weeding and harvesting. Plants in the garden vary year to year.
They meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5pm to 7pm at 215 North Kenneth Avenue Chicago, IL 60624.
