Several neighborhood and City-wide partners offer financial services, including loans, to help start-ups and existing businesses grow.

Allies for Community Business

Allies for Community Business believes that entrepreneurs from any background can start and grow businesses that create wealth for their families and communities. Allies provides the capital, coaching, and collaboration entrepreneurs need to grow great businesses in their communities. Allies also offers services for Loans, Grants, One-on-one and Group Coaching, Kitchen Space for food entrepreneurs, Licensing, and Procurement.

Allies for Community Business is located in East Garfield Park on the West Side of Chicago, at the corner of Lake and Kedzie. Allies’ office is located at The Hatchery, the largest mission-focused food and beverage incubator in the country. They are co-owners and co-tenants of this beautiful space with ICNC. 

WBDC

The Women's Business Development Center (WBDC) is a nationally recognized leader in the field of women’s economic development. The organization was founded in 1986 to provide programs and services to support and accelerate women’s business ownership and strengthen the impact of women on the economy by creating jobs, fueling economic growth, and building strong communities.

As the oldest, largest and most comprehensive women’s business assistance center in the United States, the WBDC has programs designed to help individuals in every phase of the business development and growth process. WBDC offers resources for start-ups, including workshops on finance, marketing, business development and more. More established businesses can find opportunities to grow through business advising, loan services, and additional support services.

First Eagle Bank

First Eagle Bank's continuing success is closely tied to the economic and financial health of the communities it serves. First Eagle is committed to putting financial and human resources to work through direct financial support, partnerships, and volunteer resources. First Eagle Bank's "Outstanding" Community Reinvestment Act or CRA rating reflects the depth of this involvement.



The Hatchery Chicago & ICNC

The Hatchery Chicago, a program of ICNC, also offers workshops for start-up food and beverage businesses, including the popular “Starting a Food Business” introductory workshop. Many of the workshops are free to West Side residents; visit The Hatchery Chicago events page to learn more and sign up.

The mission of the Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago is to facilitate economic and community development by strengthening individuals, organizations and companies in the Kinzie Industrial Corridor. This mission is fulfilled through: ​

  • A commitment to foster an equitable and inclusive environment for its team, the businesses it supports, and the community​
  • Advocating on behalf of companies on Chicago’s West Side​
  • Providing business services to these companies​
  • Providing career opportunities and training for residents of the West Side​
  • Make City and The Hatchery, two incubators providing space, assistance, and an entrepreneurial ecosystem to growing companies​

West Side Forward

West Side Forward’s primary investment areas for bringing about community transformation are business development, workforce development and industrial development advocacy on the West Side of Chicago.
