Celebrate the fifth running of the Bank of America Chicago 13.1 with the West Side Wellness Fest! Come to Garfield Park on Saturday, June 6 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. for a celebration of movement, wellness and the vibrant culture of Chicago’s West Side.
The Bank of America Chicago 13.1 works closely with the West Side neighborhoods featured on the course to offer events that showcase West Side pride, culture and community. Events are free with a suggested donation. The West Side Wellness Fest takes place in Garfield Park and includes:
- Community Shakeout Run for all paces and ages 13 years and older
- Family-friendly 1.31-Mile Walk
- Youth Running Events for ages 6-18 years old
- Community Village showcasing West Side businesses and organizations
The Bank of America Chicago 13.1 is committed to inclusion, accessibility and community impact. The West Side Wellness Fest is free and open to all fitness levels. Participants have the option to make a suggested donation at the point of registration to support the Garfield Park Advisory Council, the community voice for Garfield Park. 100% of donations will support the park’s programs and facilities and continue to help the West Side thrive. 9:00 a.m. – 1.31-Mile Walk
10:00 a.m. – Youth Running Events
11:00 a.m. – Youth Running Events end
11:00 a.m. – West Side Wellness Fest ends
Bib pick-up for the West Side Wellness Walk will take place in Garfield Park and is different than Packet Pick-up for the Bank of America Chicago 13.1.
COMMUNITY SHAKEOUT RUN
The Community Shakeout Run, led by Peace Runners 773, will take place on Saturday, June 6 at 8 a.m. and is open to all paces and ages 13 years and older. The free shakeout run will take participants on a casual fun run in Garfield Park to build community, excitement and support for the participants taking on the Bank of America Chicago 13.1 the next day. Peace Runners 773 is a nonprofit focused on health equity on Chicago’s West Side. After the run, participants are encouraged to stay and take part in 1.31-Mile Walk.
All walkers will receive a unique bib number for this untimed event and a commemorative item for participating.
All participants must be familiar with and abide by the event rules.
