Org overview: “For many low-income communities, affordable food, especially affordable healthy food, is in short supply. To help address this problem, we partner with the City of Chicago, NeighborSpace, Rush University Medical Center, Breakthrough Urban Ministries, and Our Lady of the Angels Community Pantry, to operate a 2.5-acre urban farm in Chicago’s East Garfield Park neighborhood. We grow, harvest, and distribute our produce with crucial support from our volunteers and our transitional job participants who are working to overcome barriers to secure permanent full-time jobs.”
