Please RSVP here:

Garfield Park is facing a pivotal moment for land and home owners. If you are the owner of a vacant lot or property, come learn about your options for development. Or, if you choose to sell, come learn how to get fair market value.

Please join the Garfield Park Community Council and the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights on Tuesday July 16th, at 6 pm to learn from realtors and lawyers about the best uses for your vacant lot or how to get your money’s worth if you choose to sell.

This workshop will include:

  • Updates on community development and real estate in Garfield Park from the Garfield Park Community Council.
  • Information from the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights on what you need to know before selling your vacant lot or building.
  • Insights from local realtors on  the Do’s and Don’ts of selling vacant land or homes, including:
  • How to get a trusted third-party appraiser.
  • How to determine a reasonable asking price of your vacant land or home.
  • Tips on scavenger sales and the impact of keeping your taxes up to date.
  • How a “Transfer Upon Death” instrument works.

Refreshments will be served.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday July 16th at 6pm at the 345 Art Gallery: 345 N Kedzie Ave, Chicago, IL 60612

We are looking forward to this workshop, and we hope you will join us.
