Garfield Park Wellness Collaborative

Garfield Park Community Council is proud to be a part of the Garfield Park Wellness Collaborative (GPWC), which is a group of organizations in West Garfield Park that seek to work with neighborhood businesses and residents to identify and address needs in the community centered around health and wellness.  Health, as defined by the World Health Organization, is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.  Wellness is defined as the state of being in good health. Nine (9) areas of wellness include emotional, spiritual, cognitive, physical, occupational, social, environmental, financial, and cultural.

Rite to Wellness

Your input is the first step to future conversations, actions and initiatives focused on W Garfield Park and the Pulaski corridor. Ways you can contribute to this conversation include filling out the Rite to Wellness survey and attending the monthly Rite to Wellness Town Hall meetings, which are always posted to our Calendar

Garfield Park Community Ambassador Program

The GPWC has also volunteered with Studio Gang and the Goldin Institute to support the implementation of the City of Chicago’s Our City, Our Safety plan — a comprehensive plan to reduce violence now through 2023, starting with the Garfield Park Community Ambassador program. We are excited to continue gathering voices from the Garfield Park Community around increasing Neighborhood Safety. We are hoping that this program will give residents and community members a platform to voice their thoughts and aspirations around safety in Garfield Park. You can find more detailed information in this flyer. Interested collaborators can go to officially sign up through this Google Form. We are excited as a team to collaborate with willing participants to help us continue to engage the Garfield Park Community.
